Pursuit of 10th national title for UConn Huskies over the last decades, UConn Huskies, coached by Geno Auriemma, won 9 titles. Therefore, they became the face of the sport, setting the bar for their competition, which doesn't seem to get any way close, according to Auriemma's words "I don't want to stop setting the bar, and it's up to everybody else to try to get there".
Unfortunately for their rivals, it's a high bar, since UConn won four titles in the past six seasons and it's definitely challenging the 10th (possible) title. Being asked to give his opinion about the other coaches, Auriemma said "If they moan and groan about it the whole time then they might as well not show up because we'll beat them by 50." Maybe the success of the 60 year old coach turned into arrogance, but he definitely earned it by his own effort and hard work. Women's game is getting the needed attention through performances of teams like Huskies. When in town, they draw better TV ratings for ESPN and schools triple their normal attendances.
Even though you can see them as an 'unbeatable villians' or as superheroes, nobody can deny their remarkable success in women's basketball. Will there be a challenger good enough to bring defeat upon them? It's to be seen.
