The tennis champion, Serena Williams, had to unwillingly pull out her doubles match with sister Venus Williams earlier this month because she was struggling to serve during the game. But she will definitely make her return and will be ready for the US Open when it starts on 25 August. Her fans will be eagerly waiting to see her perform well at the tennis court once again.
When asked about the injury, she said, "I feel very good. I feel very happy to be here, so it's good." Williams was beaten in the third round of the singles match at the Wimbledon by Alize Cornet of France. After her loss she had retired from the doubles match after a few days due to her struggle with the serves.
She had also struggled in the warm-up matches and needed treatment from the doctor before she could serve four straight double faults in the third game of the match.
"They just said I was really ill and really under the weather and I just wasn't doing very well," Williams said. "I was really scared after because I didn't realize how I felt until later and it's just, you know, Serena, keep your time, you will have the rest of your life to keep playing tennis hopefully. I didn't leave my house or my bed for a few days."
Williams, who has the honor of winning at least two majors in four of the past five years, has not won this season. She had made a fourth-round exit at the Australian Open, and had been also beaten in the initial rounds of the French. She has also won the US Open on five occasions.
