Motorsport fans had a familiar sight over the weekend when a smiling Schumacher splashed champagne on the podium. Not to be confused with the one and only Michael Schumacher who has set a name to be reckoned within the racing world, but his teenage son who goes by the name Mick, who impressed many analysts after making his debut at the new F4 series.
Michael Schumacher, who is currently still recovering from a serious head injury which he suffered while skiing a holiday trip that took place in 2013, would have, without a doubt be proud of what small Schumacher was able to achieve over the weekend.
Schumacher, 16, was named the event’s best rookie for his brilliant performance during the first day of the Oschersleben track racing, between Berlin and Hanover and rounded the weekend with a well deserve victory on Sunday.
Schumacher, who started second on the grid, took the lead and controlled the race from the front ensuring that he did not make any mistakes. Schumacher’s victory follows his 12th place position in the morning races.
While addressing the media after the victory, Schumacher said that, "Of course, I'm over-joyed, my first weekend of racing couldn't have gone any better." He went to add that, "All in all, I am completely happy over the start of the season and I am looking forward to the next race."
With Michael still recovering from his head injury which he suffered while skiing in December 2013, Rolf Schumacher, Schumacher’s father, has been at the circuit cheering on young Schumacher, his grandson, as he continues to climb the racing ladder.
